Elderly pedestrian struck by vehicle on road
On September 2nd, at approximately 4:20 PM, a traffic accident occurred on Schleidtalstraße in Bad Münstereifel. The incident took place in a curve on the road, as a 64-year-old resident of Bad Münstereifel was driving from Bad Münstereifel-Scheuren towards Kölner Straße.
The accident involved an 87-year-old pedestrian from Bad Münstereifel who was crossing the road from a nearby park. Despite an evasive maneuver, the driver's car collided with the pedestrian, resulting in severe injuries for the elderly woman.
The police from Euskirchen's traffic accident investigation team handled the accident report. The accident site was closed for the duration of the investigation until 7:34 PM. The 87-year-old pedestrian was airlifted to a hospital by a rescue helicopter due to the severity of her injuries, which were later confirmed to be life-threatening.
