On Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, a significant incident unfolded in Cologne Street, Hagen. The police were called to the scene due to a smoke alarm and a disturbance.

Residents of a multi-family home reported a smoke alarm to the authorities, and upon arrival, the officers found a 54-year-old man causing a disturbance. The man, known to the police, was acting aggressively and did not respond to repeated knocking on the apartment door.

Despite his aggressive behaviour, the man kept his hands behind his back during the encounter. However, he approached the officers in an aggressive manner and attempted to slam the apartment door towards them. After repeated warnings, the officers were forced to use pepper spray to subdue him.

Despite the use of pepper spray, the man continued to resist. In the course of the altercation, he lightly injured one of the officers. The man was carrying a knife on his belt, which added to the officers' concerns.

The officers opened the door themselves and found the man in his apartment without any lights on. The man repeatedly moved out of the officers' sight into his apartment, making the situation more challenging.

Following the incident, the man was taken into custody to prevent further crimes. An investigation was initiated to gather more information about the incident.
