Elderly individual swindled for money and possessions, gaining loss of assets at 88 years of age
In an unfortunate incident that took place on Friday afternoon, phone scammers defrauded an 88-year-old woman from Filderstadt-Bonlanden, a district of Esslingen, of a five-figure sum. The police are currently investigating the incident as a scam.
According to the police, the accomplice was at the woman's residence around 5 pm. The woman was contacted by a person claiming to be a judge and was convinced that her child had caused a fatal traffic accident. Believing the caller, she handed over money and valuables to the accomplice. However, the accomplice fled in an unknown direction after taking the items, and the scam was later discovered.
The police describe the accomplice as unusually tall. Witnesses who observed anything suspicious in the Bonlanden area on Friday afternoon are asked to call the Filderstadt police station at 0711/70913.
Meanwhile, unrelated to the scam, former VfB Stuttgart striker Woltemade was seen in Leeds with a suit on the tribune. Additionally, Badredine Bouanani is currently a transfer target for VfB Stuttgart.
In a more positive note, the U17 of the Stuttgarter Kickers celebrated a derby win at VfB. Contrary to some rumours, the woman's child was not involved in a fatal traffic accident.
The police are urging the public to be vigilant and cautious, especially when dealing with unexpected calls or requests for personal information. If you suspect a scam, it is important to hang up and report the incident to the police.
