Elderly Individual Accosted by Unscrupulous Artisan for Theft
In the quiet town of Sankt Augustin, a 79-year-old woman fell victim to a house robbery on September 2. The perpetrator, an unknown male, posed as a police officer over the phone, convincing the victim to prepare cash for supposed safekeeping, before making off with the money.
According to reports from the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters, the suspect is described as a male between 30 and 35 years old, standing approximately 1.70m tall, slim, with dark hair, no beard, glasses, or hat. He was wearing a grey vest and blue jeans. The original content of this report is from the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters, transmitted via news aktuell.
The incident occurred around 2:05 PM in a house on Holzweg, Mülldorf. The suspect initially tinkered with the sink in the guest WC on the ground floor, then went to the basement to check connections. He spoke in High German and claimed there was a water damage in the building opposite, necessitating a check of the pipes and connections in the victim's house.
While the woman kept an eye on him, he briefly distracted her when they returned to the ground floor. It was only after he left the house that she discovered that a gold watch with a leather strap and the engraving "Fernsehlottery" and a white gold necklace, both valued at €500, were missing from a living room table.
