Elderly Bicycle Enthusiasts in Borken City

The Circular Police Department Borken has announced a new initiative called Senior Cycling, which aims to enhance the safety and awareness of older cyclists. This event, focusing on prevention and risk awareness, is set to kick off on 28th August 2025 in Gronau, with further dates scheduled for 9th October 2025 in the Bocholt area and 30th October 2025 in the Ahaus area.

The initiative is part of the prevention work of the circular and police, and is designed to provide practical assistance and valuable tips for senior cyclists. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of twelve people, ensuring a personalised and effective learning experience.

The route guidance in Senior Cycling is based on current accident hotspots in the circular area, allowing cyclists to gain firsthand experience of critical traffic situations and discuss them with experts. Important tips on behaviour at intersections, roundabouts, bike lane usage, helmet usage, light usage, and safe equipment are provided during the event.

Media representatives can contact Sandra Biedermann, Leonie Dreier, Markus Huels, Peter Lefering, Thorsten Ohm, Muzeyyen Sander, and Tina Schellberg for inquiries. Registration for the event in Borken on 25th September 2025 can be made by phone at 02861-900-6161.

It's worth noting that Circular Borken has the highest ownership rate of pedelecs nationwide, making it an ideal location for such an initiative. The event is expected to be a regular fixture in the future, contributing to the continued safety and confidence of senior cyclists in the region.
