Eden Hazard joins Stake as global ambassador ahead of 2026 World Cup expansion

Eden Hazard has signed on as a global ambassador for Stake, the online sportsbook and casino brand. The former Belgium captain will take part in fan-focused campaigns leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His new role comes as the tournament prepares for its biggest edition yet, with 48 teams competing across three host nations.

Hazard's appointment was announced by Stake's Chief Marketing Officer, Akhil Sarin. Sarin highlighted the footballer's worldwide popularity and ability to perform on major stages. With over 58 million social media followers, Hazard remains one of the most recognised athletes globally.

The 2026 World Cup will mark a historic shift, expanding from 32 to 48 teams for the first time. Matches will take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, making it the first tournament hosted by three countries. A total of 104 games will be played, nearly doubling the previous format.

Hazard himself expressed excitement about the partnership. He will engage with fans through digital campaigns and football promotions during the event. His international career includes leading Belgium to third place in the 2018 World Cup, further cementing his status as a football icon.

The collaboration between Hazard and Stake will run throughout the 2026 World Cup. His involvement aims to boost fan interaction and brand visibility during the expanded tournament. The event will also set a new benchmark as the largest World Cup in history.
