The stage is set for an emotional journey as the new musical production, "Radio Silence", prepares to premiere tonight at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts. This musical is a love letter to the Channel Islands and its people, exploring themes of love, loss, loyalty, and resistance.
Set in Guernsey during the German Occupation in the 1940s, the musical tells a fictional story about six people. The concept, book, and lyrics for the musical were created by Laura Simpson, who also co-produces the show alongside Lydia Jane Pugh.
The musical aims to highlight the resilience of people who stayed on the island during the war years, with historical consultant Stephen Le Prevost providing uniforms and archive images to authentically capture the era. The cast includes Eve Le Sauvage, Michael Sullivan-Pugh, Lottie Ewin, Laura Simpson, Chris Brooks, and Reece Kilminster.
