The 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association games, held in Kakamega, Kenya, saw a triumphant performance by Kenyan schools in both volleyball and handball.

In the volleyball competition, Cheptil High School and Kwanthanze Secondary School emerged as the victors. Cheptil secured the title in a thrilling five-set match against Namugongo Vocational College, winning 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-9). Meanwhile, Kwanthanze clinched the girls' volleyball title with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-18) victory over Kesogon.

Bishop Sulumeti and St Joseph's Girls High School Kitale fought hard to secure third place in the girls' volleyball contest. Bishop Sulumeti rallied from a set down to overpower Soweto Academy 3-1 (24-26, 25-14, 25-18, 30-28). St Joseph's Girls High School Kitale, on the other hand, humbled Kawanda Secondary School from Uganda 25-13 to win their third-place play-off.

Meanwhile, in the handball finals, St Luke's Kimilili and Moi Girls Kamusinga emerged as the champions. St Luke's Kimilili ended a six-year wait to recapture the regional handball title, defeating Rwanda's Adegi 31-30. This victory marked their first triumph since they last won the title in 2016. Moi Girls Kamusinga, on the other hand, won the handball title they last held when Kenya hosted the games in Eldoret.

St Luke's Kimilili's coach, Fernweck Opicho, was pleased with the victory, stating that years of hard work and dedication had finally paid off. Kimilili fought from start to finish against Adegi, taking a 14-12 half-time lead. In a closely contested match, Highway Secondary School beat Uganda's Bombo Army Secondary School 28-26 to win the third-place play-off in volleyball.

Overall, Kenyan sports enthusiasts celebrated these victories, marking a successful end to the 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association games in Kakamega.
