eArchive4Future revolutionizes secure document storage with AI and compliance

A new archiving solution called eArchive4Future has been developed by a team of tech leaders, including Fujitsu, Intel, SUSE, and VNC. The system integrates legal compliance with AI-driven tools to ensure secure, long-term document storage. Public institutions are already testing it as part of real-world trials.

The project brings together expertise from multiple companies. Fujitsu contributes Planet AI for smart document analysis, SecDocs for tamper-proof digital storage, and PrivateGPT for AI processing in private data centres. Intel provides the hardware foundation, using Software Guard Extensions (SGX) and Trust Domain Extensions (TDX) to isolate and protect documents in cloud environments.

SUSE delivers the operating system and Kubernetes layer, enabling flexible container and microservices management. VNC’s VNClagoon software suite ties everything together with an easy-to-use interface. Their VNCdirectory system manages permissions, metadata, and third-party integrations for secure document handling and AI analytics. The solution covers all three layers of data security: infrastructure (IaaS), platform (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS). It is designed to scale efficiently while meeting strict German and EU security standards. Public sector organisations are involved as reference users to ensure the system works effectively in practice. Andrea Wörrlein, Managing Director of VNC in Berlin and a board member of VNC AG in Zug, Switzerland, oversees the project’s strategic direction. The collaboration aims to create a future-proof system that balances legal requirements with advanced AI capabilities.

eArchive4Future combines secure storage, AI-driven analysis, and regulatory compliance in a single platform. The system is already being tested by public institutions to verify its real-world performance. With support from major tech firms, it offers a scalable and adaptable solution for long-term document management.
