Dutch streamers fined for promoting unlicensed online casinos on Twitch and YouTube
The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has fined several gaming streamers for advertising unlicensed online casinos. Nedergaming, a well-known Dutch streamer, was penalised for promoting HolyLuck, an unlicensed gambling site. Other influencers, including Rouand YT2 and Sjakie078, also faced similar fines over the past two years.
Nedergaming promoted HolyLuck during live streams and pre-recorded videos on YouTube and Twitch. The KSA ruled that the streamer's content targeted Dutch viewers, despite being in English. The authority rejected claims that the streams were aimed at an international audience.
The KSA ordered Nedergaming to remove all promotional content within five working days. The streamer complied by deleting the videos but has not publicly addressed the penalty. Each violation carries a fine of 25,000 euros, with a maximum penalty of 75,000 euros for repeat offences. Between March 2024 and March 2026, the Kennisgroep Gok issued fines to multiple Dutch streamers and platforms. Influencers like FakeKappa, MeesterDennis, and Rouand YT2 were also penalised for advertising unlicensed casinos, including HolyLuck. Dutch players could freely access, deposit, and gamble on the site during this period. The KSA emphasised that promoting unlicensed gambling violates the Dutch Remote Gambling Act. Additional penalties apply if streamers fail to comply with removal orders or continue advertising illegal gambling services.
The KSA's enforcement actions highlight ongoing efforts to curb illegal gambling promotions in Dutch streaming. Streamers found violating the law face fines and mandatory content removal. The authority continues to monitor platforms like Twitch and Kick.com for similar offences.
