In a shocking turn of events, a 17-year-old suspect was brought before the courts on Tuesday, 3rd September, at around 10 a.m., charged with attempted murder. The alleged crime is connected to the tragic murder of a woman in Duisburg, which occurred on Monday morning.
The Duisburger Police found the severely injured woman in her apartment on Monday, 2nd September, following a report of a physical assault received at approximately 07:40. The woman was immediately taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Initially, a suspect could not be located. However, further investigations led to the temporary arrest of the 17-year-old. The suspect is accused of having Islamist motives and attempting murder.
The Duisburg Police have established a homicide commission, led by the Duisburg Public Prosecutor's Office, to investigate the incident. The suspect will be presented to a judge on the same day at the request of the Duisburg Public Prosecutor's Office, on suspicion of attempted homicide.
