Dubai Fountain's towering jets and dazzling shows captivate millions nightly

The Dubai Fountain has been dazzling visitors since its launch in 2009. This towering water display shoots jets up to 140 metres high, making it the tallest performing fountain in the world. Set against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa, it blends music, light and movement in a free public spectacle.

Every evening, the fountain springs to life with shows running every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm. Over 200 different songs have been featured since its opening, with the playlist regularly refreshed to include everything from classical pieces to modern pop hits. During Ramadan, performances usually begin later, after 7:30pm.

Behind the scenes, a team operates the fountain from a control room on the top floor of Dubai Mall. They coordinate the water, lights and music to create each synchronised display. While watching from the shore remains free, visitors can also book paid experiences for a closer look. The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk offers a stroll along the water's edge for Dh20 per person. For a more immersive view, a 30-minute boat ride costs Dh68.25. Both options bring spectators nearer to the fountain's powerful jets and dazzling lights. As the world's largest choreographed fountain system, it continues to draw crowds with its mix of engineering and artistry. The shows remain a highlight of Dubai's nightly entertainment, blending technology with spectacle in the heart of the city.

The Dubai Fountain stays a must-see attraction, combining record-breaking height with a vast musical repertoire. Its free performances and optional paid experiences ensure visitors can enjoy the show in different ways. With daily displays and seasonal adjustments, it remains a central feature of Dubai's vibrant nightlife.
