Drunk driving incident at Bostal lake leads to arrest by authorities of a 31-year-old individual
News Article: Man Under the Influence of Alcohol Causes Pedal-Powered Vehicle Accident at Bostalsee
A hit-and-run incident involving a pedal-powered vehicle occurred on the circular path around Bostalsee near the local campsite on July 2, 2025, at 6:30 PM. The incident involved a 31-year-old man driving a rental vehicle from Center Parcs Bostalsee.
According to Nordsaarland police station, the man lost control of the vehicle, known as a "Kettcar", and collided with a parked car in the gravel parking lot. The impact resulted in minor damage to the parked vehicle. After the collision, the man left the scene of the accident without permission.
Officers from the Nordsaarland police station later identified the driver as the suspect in the traffic incident. Investigations revealed that the man was significantly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. A blood sample was taken from the driver to determine the blood alcohol concentration.
The man was not fit to drive and was taken into police custody for several hours to sober up. However, as of now, there are no available search results or credible sources reporting who was arrested by the police at the North Saarland location on the day after the road accident.
The incident serves as a reminder to always drive responsibly and never under the influence of alcohol. Pedal-powered vehicles, while eco-friendly and fun, still require the same level of caution and care as traditional vehicles.
