Drunk 51-year-old male responsible for Kaiserlei traffic accident due to intoxication.
In the Kaiserlei area of Offenbach, a 51-year-old man found himself in hot water after an alcohol-fueled traffic accident on Strahlenberger Straße on Monday evening.
The incident, which occurred around 7 p.m., resulted in a collision between the man's black Renault Trafic and a street lamp. The impact left the Renault no longer roadworthy, and it had to be towed away.
The man, apparently shaken by the accident, abandoned the scene. However, his actions did not go unnoticed, and he was soon identified and visited by the police at his residence later that evening.
Upon arrival, officers found the man under the influence of alcohol. A voluntary breathalyzer test revealed a reading of 1.32 percent, above the legal limit.
The man is now being investigated for multiple offenses, including endangering traffic, hit-and-run, and driving under the influence. The traffic accident caused approximately 9,000 euros in property damage.
The police have not released any further information about the man at this time. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence.
