Drone manufacturer PRYM Aerospace receives certification from DGCA for their Arjuna drone, driving forward Salam Kisan's agricultural initiative and India's move towards an agricultural revolution powered by drones.
In a significant development for the Indian drone industry, the PRYM Drone School of Excellence has been approved as a DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO). This approval marks a milestone for the PRYM Group, as it continues to revolutionise agriculture through its innovative drone technology.
The PRYM Group, with its platform Salam Kisan, has already empowered over 3 lakh farmers with drone spraying and precision farming solutions. This integrated ecosystem, which includes certified hardware, DGCA-approved pilot training, Salam Kisan's farmer marketplace, and after-sales support, is set to expand further with the recent developments.
On August 28, 2025, the PRYM Aerospace division of the PRYM Group received DGCA Type Certification for its flagship Arjuna drone. This drone, indigenously designed and manufactured at PRYM's R&D hub in Jalna, is designed to deliver scalable spraying services, precision agriculture outcomes, and cost savings.
The Arjuna drone, certified by DGCA and backed by Salam Kisan's network of over 3 lakh farmers, is uniquely positioned to serve both rural and commercial sectors. This approval creates India's first end-to-end pathway for drone manufacturing, pilot training, and deployment through Salam Kisan's nationwide platform.
The deployment of Arjuna drones aligns with national priorities of skill development, sustainability, and Atmanirbhar Bharat. It provides an immediate channel into Salam Kisan's farmer base for franchisees and distributors. Moreover, it creates opportunities for trained rural pilots, agri-entrepreneurs, and youth employment.
Garuda Aerospace, another player in the drone industry, also received the type certification for its flagship drone model Arjuna from the DGCA on the same day. Dhanashree Mandhani, Founder & CEO of PRYM Group, stated that these DGCA approvals for both training and hardware are proof that India can build and scale world-class indigenous drone technology.
Earlier this year, the PRYM Group signed a Rs 300 crore MoU with the Government of Maharashtra to accelerate drone adoption and skill development. This partnership aims to further strengthen the PRYM Group's commitment to empowering farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
With the DGCA approvals, Salam Kisan is ready to scale its services nationwide and create a sustainable ecosystem for farmers and rural entrepreneurs. The Arjuna drone opens opportunities for franchise partners, distributors, and institutional buyers such as plantations, commercial estates, private universities, and CSR initiatives.
In conclusion, the DGCA certifications for PRYM's drone school and the Arjuna drone are significant steps towards establishing India as a global leader in indigenous drone technology. The Arjuna drone, with its potential to revolutionise agriculture and create employment opportunities, is poised to play a crucial role in this journey.
