Driver operates bicyclist

A traffic accident involving a BVG bus and a cyclist occurred on Westphalian Street near Paulsborner Street in Wilmersdorf. The incident took place yesterday, with the 61-year-old bus driver traveling towards Paulsborner Street and the 18-year-old cyclist pedaling in the opposite direction on the bike lane.

The cyclist sustained injuries to the head and arms in the accident. Unfortunately, the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the cyclist to a hospital for further treatment. The current condition of the cyclist is unknown, as updates are pending from the hospital.

The traffic investigation unit of Police Directorate 2 (West) is continuing the investigation into the accident. Traffic on Westphalian Street was diverted following the incident to ensure the safety of other road users.

This is not the first time a cyclist has been involved in an accident in Wilmersdorf. A search of previous results does not contain any specific information about the name of the driver of the BVG bus involved in a traffic accident in the area about a decade ago where a cyclist was injured.

Our thoughts are with the cyclist and their family during this difficult time. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
