News Article: Suspected Hit-and-Run Accident on Warendorfer Straße
An investigation is underway following a hit-and-run accident that occurred on the Warendorfer Straße in Ahlen, Germany, on August 30, 2025. The incident left a 16-year-old e-bike rider from Ahlen with serious injuries.
At approximately 2:40 AM, the injured teenager was found on the L547, Warendorfer Straße, between Tönnishäuschen and Ahlen. Initial findings suggest that the accident involved a collision with a car that fled the scene.
Immediate searches for the suspect's vehicle were unsuccessful. However, a witness reported seeing a heavily damaged, white compact car driving towards Ahlen on the Warendorfer Straße around the same time.
The Warendorf Police have not yet released the identity or current status of the person suspected in connection with the accident. A blood sample was taken from a 19-year-old from Hamm on the order of the public prosecutor's office due to suspicions of drug consumption in relation to the incident.
The Warendorfer Straße between Ahlen and Tönnishäuschen was closed for 2.5 hours due to the investigation. The accident investigation was continued in the afternoon of August 30, 2025, with the involvement of the accident investigation team of the PP Münster and DEKRA.
