Drama surrounding Shilo Sanders persists as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take harsh action following the NFL's financial penalty against Coach Prime's son
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Make Roster Moves Amidst Shilo Sanders Drama
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been making some significant roster changes, with the most notable being the addition of several new players and the sudden departure of Shilo Sanders.
Last Saturday night, Sanders was ejected from a preseason game against Buffalo for throwing punches, an action that Todd Bowles, the Buccaneers' coach, described as inexcusable in the league. The incident resulted in a fine of $4,669 for Sanders.
Despite being drafted by the Buccaneers in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Sanders failed to make the team's practice roster cut and was not selected as one of the initial 17 practice-squad players. Less than 24 hours after his ejection, Sanders was released by the team, and he is currently a free agent.
However, the drama surrounding Sanders is not over yet. His father, Deion Sanders, expressed hope that Shilo will get another opportunity with another team. Deion also mentioned that plans have already been made for Shilo if he doesn't get picked up on the waiver.
On a more positive note, the Buccaneers have been busy signing new players. Ben Scott has joined the team as a Center, while Jack Henderson and Michael Jordan have been signed as Safeties and Guards, respectively. Tyler McLellan, Nick Jackson, and Lorenz Metz have been added as Tackles, and Jayson Jones, Mohamed Kamara, and Nash Hutmacher have been signed as Defensive Linemen. Tanner Taula has also been added as a Tight End.
The first 5 players signed to the Buccaneers' 2025 practice squad are QB Connor Bazelak, DL C.J. Brewer, DL Adam Gotsis, WR Garrett Greene, and G Luke Haggard.
The Buccaneers are undoubtedly facing a challenging period, but with the addition of these new players, they are showing their determination to rebuild and move forward. The future is uncertain for Shilo Sanders, but one thing is clear: the Buccaneers are not backing down from their commitment to field a competitive team.
