Dr. Marco Trienes takes up the position of Director in Münster.

New CEO for Wirtschaftsförderung Münster GmbH (WFM): Dr. Marco Trienes

Dr. Marco Trienes has been appointed as the new CEO of Wirtschaftsförderung Münster GmbH (WFM), effective immediately. The city council made the decision to appoint Trienes for a term of five years, starting from September 3rd, 2023.

Trienes, who holds a degree in economic geography with a focus on regional economic analysis and economic development, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He completed his doctorate while working as a scientific employee at the chair of economic geography.

Before joining WFM, Trienes was the CEO of the Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Paderborn. Prior to that, he worked at the Wirtschaftsförderung Wuppertal and served as an interim board member.

In his new position, Trienes will oversee three associated companies based in Münster, Germany: Technologieförderung Münster GmbH, Nano-Bioanalytik-Zentrum GmbH, and CeNTech GmbH. He will manage these companies in addition to his responsibilities at WFM.

As CEO of WFM, Trienes will be responsible for marketing, maintaining, and expanding the economic location of Münster, both nationally and internationally. The company provides services such as start-up assistance, location marketing, innovation management, company settlement in the economic region, and skilled worker consultation.

The three associated companies under Trienes's management are all leaders in their respective fields. Technologieförderung Münster GmbH specialises in technology transfer and innovation management, Nano-Bioanalytik-Zentrum GmbH is a research centre for nano- and bioanalytics, and CeNTech GmbH is a centre for nanotechnology.

Dr. Marco Trienes's management of the associated companies is a significant addition to his role as CEO of Wirtschaftsförderung Münster GmbH. He will work closely with the city council and other stakeholders to drive economic growth and development in Münster.

Enno Fuchs, who is stepping down as CEO of WFM due to family reasons, will pass on the baton to Trienes. Fuchs has been instrumental in the success of WFM and the city of Münster over the past years, and he wishes Trienes the best of luck in his new role.
