Double jackpot miracle at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas casino
A lucky guest at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas struck two major jackpots in minutes this week. The wins came on the same slot machine at the resort's casino. The property, once known as the Hard Rock Hotel, has been under Virgin's full management since 2020.
The first win arrived on Wednesday when the player hit a $21,150 jackpot on the Mo Mo Mo Mummy slot. This came from a modest $2.50 bet. Moments later, the same machine paid out again—this time for $34,000.
The resort opened as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in March 2021, replacing the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino that operated from 1999 to 2020. Before Virgin took over, the site was run by Morgans Hotel Group and earlier by DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, a Native American tribe, originally owned the casino, marking the first tribal-run venue in the city. Virgin assumed full control of the property in 2020, not 2024 as previously reported. The casino now operates independently under the Virgin brand, separate from the hotel's management.
The two jackpots add to the casino's reputation for big wins. The resort remains a key player in Las Vegas, blending its history with Virgin's branding. Guests continue to visit the site, now five years into its new identity.
