Dortmund’s AI Rhino Teaches Preschoolers Road Safety in Groundbreaking Project

A new road safety project for preschool children will launch in Dortmund next week. The initiative features Chatterhorn, an AI-powered talking rhinoceros designed to teach youngsters about staying safe near traffic. The official unveiling takes place on Monday, February 24, at the Dortmund Police Puppet Theater in Westfalenpark. The Chatterhorn project is a collaboration between the City of Dortmund and the local police, and includes an AI chatbook that will be sent to thousands of daycare centers across the city. The character, a life-sized AI-powered rhinoceros, will appear in person at the launch event. The Chatterhorn AI chatbook and character will soon reach daycare centers throughout Dortmund. The launch event marks the start of a city-wide effort to improve early road safety education using AI. Parents and educators will have access to the AI-powered materials in the coming weeks.
