In the quiet town of Montecorvino Rovella near Salerno, Italy, a shockwave of grief and disbelief has swept through the community following the discovery of Tina Sgarbini's lifeless body in her first-floor apartment on an unspecified date.

Tina, a 47-year-old mother of three, had been in a relationship with Christian Persico, a 36-year-old man who has now been identified as the prime suspect in her death. The nature of their relationship is still unclear, with reports suggesting they were seen together in a local bar just a few days prior.

The Carabinieri have been investigating the case, coordinated by the Salerno Public Prosecutor's Office. Persico, who is also 36, is alleged to have strangled Tina during a dispute, a claim supported by initial reconstructions. After the murder, he reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by the authorities.

Tina's Facebook profile, filled with photos and videos of her happy times with Persico, her friends, and her three children, now serves as a poignant reminder of her life. The first broken hearts appeared on her profile as friends learned of her disappearance, and expressions of pain and bewilderment soon followed.

There are also images of Tina and Persico enjoying dinners and toasts together, with Persico tagging her in some of the posts. On December 23, 2020, just four months before her death, Persico posted a photo of them smiling together with the caption "Four years of putting up with each other. Who would have thought".

Rumors of a note Persico allegedly left for his mother, admitting to having made "a mistake", have circulated, but these remain unconfirmed at this stage.

The Carabinieri have reviewed the town's cameras to analyze Persico's movements and are currently seeking him actively. The investigation continues, and the community waits for justice for Tina Sgarbini.
