Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa responds vigorously to claims of turnovers misconduct
Miami Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa Addresses Turnovers After Week 1 Loss
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins has expressed concern over his turnovers following the team's 33-8 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.
In the game, Tagovailoa had a less-than-impressive performance, throwing multiple interceptions and losing a fumble. This marked the second time in his last three outings that he has committed multiple turnovers.
Since 2020, Tagovailoa has lost a fumble and thrown multiple interceptions four times. According to Omar Kelly of The Miami Herald, he has committed at least three turnovers in a game seven times during this period, more than any other quarterback except Trevor Lawrence.
One of these instances occurred in 2024, when Tagovailoa had a game with three interceptions against the Houston Texans.
Despite the turnovers, Tagovailoa insisted that he doesn't feel like he's pressing. Instead, he acknowledged that turnovers are part of the game. He also admitted that he needs to play better.
Tagovailoa's comment about turning the ball over in bunches was considered unusual, but he made it clear that he was disappointed with the way the team lost, stating that it was not acceptable for the fans.
The Dolphins will look to bounce back in Week 2 when they face the New England Patriots. It's hoped that Tagovailoa can find his form and lead the team to a victory.
