China Showcases Advanced Military Capabilities in Grand Parade

In a bold display of its military might, China unveiled an array of cutting-edge weapons systems during a grand military parade. The event, attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and other dignitaries, showcased China's commitment to modernising its military and enhancing its global standing.

The parade featured a diverse range of missiles, drones, and other advanced technology. One of the highlights was the DF (East Wind) missiles, capable of reaching the U.S. mainland or Europe with nuclear warheads. These missiles, which have been part of China's arsenal for some time, are designed to operate from different launch platforms at various altitudes, boasting unique flight characteristics.

Another notable display was the YJ (Adler Attack) missiles, capable of attacking enemy ships on water. These missiles, along with the DF missiles, were presented with specific functions that make them formidable additions to China's military arsenal. The DF missiles, for instance, can fly at speeds exceeding Mach 5, potentially up to Mach 10, with high maneuverability that makes them difficult to intercept with current missile defense systems. They are launched initially using long-range ballistic rockets to reach the altitude and speed necessary for their scramjet engines to operate, enabling rapid strike against targets with very short warning times.

The parade also showcased "loyal wingmen" - drones that support manned combat jets or conduct reconnaissance missions. These drones can be controlled from a command aircraft like the J-20, China's first indigenously developed stealth fighter. Furthermore, the military showcased the future of air warfare with the display of collaborative combat aircraft (CCA), designed to work together in a coordinated manner to enhance combat effectiveness.

In addition to these advanced weapons systems, the parade highlighted China's efforts in developing domestically produced technology. Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his speech, emphasised the importance of self-reliance in military technology and the need to build a strong military that can safeguard the country's interests.

The grand military parade was a testament to China's military modernisation efforts and its commitment to enhancing its global standing. The display of advanced technology, from hypersonic missiles to drones and collaborative combat aircraft, underscored China's ambition to be a key player in the global arena.
