Disney World and Your Furry Friends: A Comprehensive Guide

If you're planning a trip to Disney World with your furry companions, there are a few things you should know.

Firstly, for daycare or overnight boarding, dogs must meet certain requirements. They must have vaccinations for rabies, distemper, and bordetella, and be at least 5 months old and spayed or neutered for group play. The canine influenza vaccine is recommended but not required.

For those seeking accommodation, there are several options. The Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection, located near Disney World, allows two dogs up to 18 kg with a pet fee per stay. Additionally, several Hilton hotels in Orlando offer pet-friendly accommodations close to Disney World.

If you're bringing a service animal, they are permitted at Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. Service animals, limited to dogs and miniature horses, are allowed in all areas, including all forms of Disney transportation, but not on dining chairs or tables in dining areas, near water features or fountains, or closer than 4 feet to the water at pools or wet decks.

Best Friends Pet Hotel, located on Bonnet Creek Parkway across from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and backing up to Bonnet Creek near EPCOT, offers grooming services and dog boarding. Grooming services range from $50 to $130, depending on your dog's size. Dog boarding starts at $59 for a day rate or $67 per night for a standard indoor room with meal times and 2 potty walks. Club suites, costing $325 per night, include an indoor and outdoor enclosure, a personal concierge, additional services, and premium amenities.

Best Friends Pet Hotel is open 1 hour before the first park opens and closes 1 hour after the last park closes, including special events. Round-trip pickup and drop-off service is available for $25 at all dog-friendly Disney World resorts.

Add-on options at Best Friends Pet Hotel include walk and explore, cuddle time, playtime, bedtime story, group play session, pet photo, premium bedding, nightly news, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, and aromatherapy dream packages.

However, it's important to note that Disney World does not allow emotional support animals, comfort animals, or pets at the parks or Disney Springs. Service animals must be housebroken and behave appropriately by not barking, growling, jumping up, or lunging at guests or cast members. Service animals are also required to be trained as service animals that perform tasks for a guest with a disability, and Disney guest relations or cast members may ask what the service animal is trained to perform.

In conclusion, with the right planning and preparations, your pet can enjoy the magic of Disney World just as much as you do.
