In legal news, the New York Court of Appeal has confirmed the conviction of Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million to author E. Jean Carroll for defaming her, amid accusations of rape. The court's decision upholds the initial jury verdict, which was deemed reasonable.

Marine Le Pen, the French political leader, will face a retrial starting January 13, 2026, in connection with a financial fraud case involving the National Front. The trial comes after she was sentenced to four years in prison, including two years, a fine of 100,000 euros, and a five-year period of ineligibility with immediate execution on March 31.

In France, the appeal trial date for Marine Le Pen has been set for January 13 to February 12, 2026, at the Paris Court of Appeal.

Meanwhile, in Jerusalem-East, an attack on a bus stop at the entrance to the Ramot neighborhood resulted in six deaths and eight injuries. The attack is taking place in a context of increasing violence between settlers and Palestinians, fueled by the Israeli government's desire to annex the territory.

Back in France, the trial of Frédéric Péchier, accused of 30 poisonings, including 12 fatal ones, opened on Monday at the Doubs Assize Court. Péchier was a guest on RTL's morning show prior to the trial.
