Discussion Event: "Work - But How?" - Innovative Views for Immigrant and Refugee Disability Workforce
On September 25, 2025, the Inclusion Circle "Flight. Migration. Disability" will host a full-day expert conference titled "Work - but how?" at the Diözesanzentrum Obermünchen in Regensburg. This event is part of the Intercultural Weeks Regensburg 2025.
The conference aims to create fair access to the labor market for migrant and refugee people with disabilities. The organisers, which include the Inclusion Circle "Flight. Migration. Disability", the Supplementary Independent Participation Advice (EUTB), Handicap International / Project Crossroads, Catholic Adult Education Regensburg, the Integration Council of the City of Regensburg, and the Regensburg District Office, have planned an engaging programme for the day.
The event will commence with greetings from regional politicians and representatives of the Bavarian Ministry. The main lectures will be delivered by Claire Deery and Silvia Floris. In the afternoon, a World Café will be held, providing a platform for exchange and discussion on topics such as dismantling barriers, forms of support, successful practical examples, and the role of companies.
Following the World Café, a workshop titled "Work - but how?" will take place to work on practice-oriented approaches and concrete demands. A moderated panel discussion with audience participation is also scheduled during the congress.
The venue for the congress in Regensburg is barrier-free, ensuring accessibility for all attendees. Registrations for the congress are possible until 15 September 2025. For inquiries about the congress, you can contact L. Keil ([email protected], Tel.: 0941 4009-371), A. Goldberg ([email protected], Tel.: 0171 577-4587), or S. Gut-Artemiak ([email protected], Tel.: 0941 463-76151).
In May 2025, an expert conference titled "Strengthen cooperation, further develop guiding principle, promote cooperation" was held in Erfurt. This conference focused on the particular challenges of double discrimination. Numerous representatives of the around 500 EUTB advice centres participated in the Erfurt conference.
The Inclusion Circle "Flight. Migration. Disability" was founded in 2020 and was awarded the Inclusion Prize of the Upper Palatinate district in 2022. The organisation has been actively working towards improving labour market access for migrant and refugee people with disabilities.
We look forward to a productive and insightful day of discussions and exchange at the "Work - but how?" conference in Regensburg.
