Fascinating subject - Discussion between Neuer and Arnold centered on this topic.

In the 74th minute, coach Thomas Tuchel (50) decided to swap out his goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer (38), from Bayern (2-0) with his No. 3, Daniel Peretz (23) in a match against VfL Wolfsburg.

An unusual event happened moments before the substitution. When the referee indicated for the goalkeepers to switch, Neuer casually walked towards the sideline and stumbled into Wolfsburg's captain, Maximilian Arnold (29). The two engaged in a friendly chat and spoke for about a minute. They're familiar with each other from their days with the German Football Association.

The Topic of Neuer and Arnold's Impromptu Chat

The goalkeeper change might've reminded some fans of a 2009 match when Felix Magath (70), former Wolfsburg coach, replaced his regular keeper, Diego Benaglio (40), with André Lenz (50) in the 89th minute of a 5-1 win against Bayern. It was a humiliating defeat for the club back then.

Everyone took the change-up a bit more casually this time around. "I'm not at all concerned with whether a goalkeeper is replaced. I don't pay attention to these things," said Arnold. "We didn't study our opponent or possessed enough control in the final third."

Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl (56) mentioned, "I was focused on my team and didn't see it as a signal."

Dzenan Pejcinovic (19), Wolfsburg's breakout star (28 goals in 18 games for the U19 squad), was brought in at the 85th minute. However, his excitement was short-lived.

Unfortunately, Pejcinovic sustained a metatarsal injury without fault during the game. Medical assessments will be conducted on Monday to gauge the injury's extent. There's a possible chance this injury could impact the end of the season.
