Disabled veterans receive adapted cars in regional support initiative

Two military veterans received specially adapted cars at an official ceremony in the regional capital this week. The vehicles, fitted with hand controls, are part of a wider effort to support disabled service members.

The initiative comes as part of the *Defenders of the Fatherland* Foundation's ongoing programme to improve mobility for those injured during their service.

This year, 23 adapted cars have been handed over to veterans across the region. Each vehicle is modified to meet the needs of drivers with disabilities, ensuring they can travel independently.

To qualify, veterans must submit an application through their local branch of the foundation. Staff will then assist them in gathering the necessary paperwork. With offices in every municipality, the process is designed to be accessible to all eligible candidates. Alexander Rudenko, Deputy Governor of Krasnodar Krai, highlighted the importance of the scheme. He confirmed that the state remains committed to expanding support for disabled veterans, including access to prosthetics and home modifications. The foundation has also pledged to continue providing adapted vehicles to those who served in special military operations. Officials stressed that the programme will remain a priority in the coming years.

The adapted cars are expected to significantly improve daily life for the veterans who receive them. With further support measures planned, the region aims to ensure long-term assistance for those affected by service-related disabilities.
