In the world of gaming, Europe has seen a significant shift in trends and revenue distribution over the past few years. The All About Video Games report, published by Video Games Europe, provides an insightful look into the top-selling games and graphics cards of 2024.

The report reveals that Helldivers 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and Hogwarts Legacy were among the top-selling games in Europe last year. Interestingly, these titles also found a place in Steam's 2024 top sellers rankings.

When it comes to graphics cards, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB offers the best value, according to the guide. For those with a tighter budget, the Intel Arc B570 is the recommended choice. On the other hand, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 takes the crown as the best high-end graphics card, while the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is the preferred mid-range option.

Despite a 3% drop in the percentage of PC gamers in Europe, the PC gaming revenue has seen a growth. This could be due to the fact that digital purchases now account for 90% of gaming revenue, up 5% from 2023, with physical purchases making up only 10%.

Interestingly, console purchases decreased by 3%, despite a 3% increase in the number of Europeans saying they play on consoles. This discrepancy could be due to the shift towards digital purchases in the console gaming market as well.

Mobile gaming accounted for the largest chunk of revenue at 44%, followed by console purchases at 38% and PC at 15%. These figures highlight the growing importance of mobile gaming in the European market.

Outside of writing, Bonifield has interests in indie games, tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), and building custom keyboards.

The 2024 All About Video Games report also shows a 4% growth in gaming revenue overall, indicating a steady and promising future for the European gaming industry. As we move forward, it will be interesting to see how these trends continue to evolve.
