Details on the 2018 Mercedes CLS's Price and Features for the UK Market
Mercedes Unveils Electrified Lineup for the Future
Mercedes is making a significant shift towards electrification, with several new models set to hit the market starting from 2025. One of the most anticipated additions is the new Mercedes CLA, which will be available in both combustion and electric versions.
The new electric GLC, slated for release at the end of 2025, will serve as a successor to the EQC. Meanwhile, the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series convertible is expected to make its debut in spring 2025, targeting the higher luxury segment.
The transition to electric platforms will commence in 2025, with availability expanding through 2026.
In the meantime, Mercedes has introduced the 2018 CLS, now available at their UK dealers. The CLS 350 d and 400 d models come equipped with new in-line six-cylinder diesels, offering 282bhp and 335bhp respectively. The CLS 350 d has a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds, official economy of 48.7mpg, and a price tag of £57,150 in the UK. The CLS 400 d, on the other hand, boasts a 0-62mph time of 5.0 seconds, official economy of 47.9mpg, and a price of £60,410.
The CLS 450 petrol model is powered by a 3.0 litre in-line six and EQ boost with 48v electrics, delivering 362bhp, a 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds, and official economy of 36.2mpg.
Additionally, the CLS 450 4MATIC AMG Line is priced at £57,610 in the UK and comes standard with 19'' alloys, Parking Package, Leather, 12.3'' Infotainment, 12.3'' Cockpit Display, Agility Control Suspension, DAB, and ambient lighting.
The Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 and E 53 models, unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, feature hybrid power. The pricing and performance specifications for these models have not been disclosed, but they will be available in Coupe and Cabriolet versions.
A new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door has been revealed, intended as an effective replacement for the CLS 63. However, no information about the power output, 0-62mph time, or official economy of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door has been provided.
Furthermore, the 2013 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG and Shooting Brake are expected to receive power upgrades similar to the new E63 AMG and the E 63 AMG S, but no details about these upgrades have been released yet.
Lastly, the Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the UK are offering additional options such as the Premium Plus Equipment for £3,895, Comfort Package for £2,495, and Driving Assistance Package for £1,695 on select models. The first customer cars of the 2018 Mercedes CLS are expected to be delivered in summer 2018.
