The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden has issued a press release regarding an incident of vandalism that occurred in June, causing damage to the automatic doors and the elevator at an unspecified location.

The damage, estimated to cost around 6,000 euros for repairs, was caused by unidentified individuals. No specific persons have been named in connection with the incident.

The operation of the elevator does not affect the repair of the damaged automatic doors, which is expected to take approximately twelve weeks. It's worth noting that the elevator offers a significant advantage, particularly for mobility-impaired people, as it provides a direct, barrier-free connection between the Kransand area on the Rhine and the traffic hub at the bridgehead.

During the repair period of the automatic doors, the operation of the elevator will not be possible. This is not expected to pose a significant inconvenience, as the elevator primarily benefits those getting on and off at the bus stop "Mainz-Kastel Bridgehead".

Citizens with questions regarding this press release are encouraged to contact the responsible department or office. The press office can be reached at Schlossplatz 6, 65183 Wiesbaden. For more information, visit the press office website at www.wiesbaden.de/pressereferat.

The elevator at the affected location began operation in August 2024. The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
