Despite repeated rejections, Newcastle United persists in pursuing the signatures of Jorgen Strand Larsen and Yoane Wissa.
In the ongoing transfer saga at Newcastle United, the Magpies are making moves to strengthen their attacking lineup. However, the future of Alexander Isak remains uncertain.
After a £110million offer for Isak was rejected by his current club, Newcastle United are still in need of a second striker, should they decide to sell the Swede. The club is reportedly interested in signing Jorgen Strand Larsen or Yoane Wissa before the transfer window ends.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe has denied telling Isak he could leave this summer. The striker has not played a minute of pre-season for Newcastle and hasn't been involved in their opening two Premier League matches. Recent talks between Isak and Newcastle's chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan on Tyneside did not provide any clear resolution.
The Reds are yet to return with another offer for Isak, and talkSPORT understands that they won't return unless given encouragement by Newcastle.
On a positive note, Newcastle United are set to confirm the signing of Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart in a club-record £69million deal. Should Woltemade complete his medical, he is expected to sign a six-year deal and take the number 27 shirt.
Elsewhere, Brentford are not expected to return with another offer for Maximilian Beier, which could leave Yoane Wissa in west London. Despite Brentford's recent signing of Dango Ouattara in a deal worth £42.5m, they see him as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, not for Wissa. Newcastle's latest offer for Wissa was £40m, but Brentford have not sanctioned a sale for him yet.
Eddie Howe is concentrating on the players that are playing and influencing results. He has denied any intention of selling Isak against his will, emphasising his focus on bringing players to the club.
As the transfer window draws closer, the future of Alexander Isak and Newcastle United's pursuit of other strikers continues to be a talking point in the football world.
