In the world of superhero films, excitement is building for the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Scheduled for a July 31, 2026 release, this highly anticipated film is currently in production under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the return of Michael Mando as the Scorpion. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will remember Mando's electrifying performance in previous Spider-Man films.

However, there is some uncertainty surrounding another familiar face. Mark Ruffalo, who has played Bruce Banner/the Hulk since 2012's Avengers film, has not yet read a script for his potential return. Ruffalo's comments about his potential return were made to ET, where he mentioned that each time he reprises the role, it is under a new director and in a new world.

Ruffalo's Hulk has appeared in four Avengers movies, Thor: Ragnarok, and the She-Hulk streaming series. Before Ruffalo took over the role, Edward Norton portrayed Bruce Banner in one film, 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows up on the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange casts a spell that makes the whole world forget Peter Parker's identity.

The villain lineup for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be formidable. Alongside the Scorpion, Mister Negative, who has the power to awaken people's dark sides, is rumored to be another villain in the film. Jon Bernthal's Punisher will also make an appearance.
