Demonstrators outside the US Open urge spectators to boo Trump during his attendance at the men's final match.

Protesters from the organisation RefuseFascism.org gathered outside the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Sunday, causing some delays for tennis fans trying to enter the stadium. Hundreds of fans exiting the 7 train at Mets-Willets Point station encountered the protesters, who brandished signs and called for onlookers to boo President Trump.

The leader of RefuseFascism.org, Sunsara Taylor, organised demonstrations against President Trump at the 2022 US Open. The protesters' chants and jeers could be heard inside the arena, with some cheers mixed in when Trump's face was shown on the screens. One protester was heard yelling, "Boo that motherf**ker."

The USTA sent a letter to its broadcast partners on Sept. 6, asking them not to show any "disruptions or reactions" during Trump's appearance at the US Open. The organisation stated that Trump's threat to send federal troops and National Guard into cities could unleash white supremacist, racist violence.

Some ticket holders shared their frustrations on social media due to long security checks causing delays in entering the stadium. One X user posted a photo showing hundreds of fans still outside Arthur Ashe Stadium ten minutes before the US Open men's final start time. Another ticket holder expressed frustration about potentially missing the start of the match due to the long lines.

The New York Times reported that the crowd jeered Trump when his face appeared on large screen televisions inside the arena. The activists dubbed President Trump "the Hitler of America" due to his deportation agenda and threats of a Big Apple federal takeover.

The protesters are planning large-scale, nonviolent protests on November 5 in Washington, DC, and are calling upon New Yorkers to attend. Emma Kaplan, one of the protesters, stated that Trump should be booed everywhere he goes.

Despite the disruptions, the US Open men's final was able to proceed without any significant delays. The match was won by Daniil Medvedev, marking his first Grand Slam title. The protests outside the stadium added an unexpected twist to an otherwise exciting day of tennis.
