'Delsa' crowned Miss Kriensertal at Switzerland's iconic cattle show

The annual Brown Swiss show in Kriens has crowned its latest champion. Over 100 cattle were paraded from the Kriensertal pastures to the city centre for the event. Among them, a cow named 'Delsa' took home the top prize, earning the title of 'Miss Kriensertal'.

The competition drew farmers, breeders, and visitors to celebrate Kriens' agricultural traditions. The jury carefully assessed each animal before selecting 'Delsa' as the winner. Her breeders, Christian and Sandra Portmann, expressed their joy at the victory.

The event also featured professional judging, social gatherings, and a children's competition called ChΓ€lbi. Zita Bucher, president of the Municipal Council, and Marco Frauenknecht, a city councillor, presented the winning ribbon to 'Delsa'. Kriens, the second-largest city in the canton of Lucerne, maintains a strong farming presence. With 135 farmhouses and 30 active farms, the area continues to honour its rural roots through festivals like this one.

The Brown Swiss show once again highlighted Kriens' deep connection to agriculture. 'Delsa' and her breeders will be remembered as this year's standout winners. The festival remains a key part of the city's annual calendar, bringing together the community to celebrate local farming.
