Delilahs' music sets the rhythm for campus living experiences
At Holy Cross, the all-girls acapella group, The Delilahs, continues to captivate the campus community with their melodious performances. Founded in 1993, The Delilahs have grown to become a productive, creative, caring, and friendly community.
Currently, the group is led by Rea Nasif '24 and Mia Macdonald '24, and includes members such as Sophie Robertson '25 and Allison McGrath '21, among others. Sophie, a fan of John Mayer and Hall and Oates' "Rich Girl", also happens to be a member of The Delilahs.
The Delilahs rehearse diligently, dedicating over 6 hours a week to perfecting their arrangements from scratch. Their hard work pays off, as they can be seen performing every Monday at Cool Beans at 10 pm.
Last week, in anticipation of Valentine's Day, The Delilahs organized impromptu performances at Kimball Dining Hall, which was initially embarrassed by the idea of receiving a singing valentine. However, the performances were well-received, and the group presented at the cocurricular extravaganza on Saturday.
For those interested in joining, The Delilahs will hold auditions at the beginning of the upcoming Fall semester. The person leading the group during the auditions is yet to be specified.
The Delilahs offer a unique experience, with singing valentines that include songs like Brittney Spears' "Toxic," Meghan Trainer's "Dear Future Husband," and Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You." Sophie, for one, is a fan of these offerings.
The Delilahs' community is described as awesome, with the girls being the best of friends. If you're looking for a vibrant, inclusive, and musically rewarding experience, consider auditioning for The Delilahs in the upcoming semester.
