Decision on Application of Article 93 (2) of the Treaty Yet to Be Made by the Commission

On Saturday morning, a car was damaged in a supermarket parking lot on Thieweg Street. The supermarket in question is Aldi.

At around 10:37 AM, an unknown individual was responsible for the damage and fled the scene. The fleeing vehicle was a black Mercedes-Benz A-Class, with the license plate number XYZ 123.

Surveillance footage from the supermarket may contain images of the fleeing driver and vehicle. The driver, who is estimated to be approximately 60 years old and around 1.70 meters tall, was last seen exiting the supermarket parking lot towards Thieweg Street. He was wearing a red tracksuit at the time of the incident and is notably slim.

The damage occurred to the front bumper of the vehicle in the middle. The damage extends beyond the front bumper, with visible scratches and dents. No legal obligations were fulfilled by the individual who caused the damage.

A detailed description of the damage to the car has been provided to the local police department, who have been informed about the incident.

A reward of €5,000 is being offered for any information leading to the identification and arrest of the driver. Citizens with information can still contact the Traffic Commission in Ahaus at Tel. (02561) 9260.

The police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the driver to come forward and help bring this individual to justice.
