The Department of Urban Planning and Building Regulations in our city has initiated a public participation process for the project-specific development plan "Katernberger Straße 76-78 (Lidl Branch)". This process, which runs from September 8th to 19th, 2025, aims to inform the public about the general objectives and purposes, as well as the essential impacts of the planning.

The planning includes an expansion of the existing market building, with a redesign and expansion of the parking lot facilities and extensive greening measures. The expansion is part of Lidl's aim to make the food discount market future-proof and meet modern requirements for a food market.

Interested parties can view the planning documents at the Department of Urban Planning and Building Regulations during the specified period. Additionally, the plan boards are on display at the Citizen Center Kon-Takt, Katernberger Straße 4, during specific hours from Monday to Friday.

For those seeking a more detailed understanding, employees of the Department of Urban Planning and Building Regulations will explain the plans on September 11th from 3 pm to 6 pm and on September 16th from 9 am to 12 pm at Lindenallee 10, Germany House, 5th Floor, Room 508.

The construction project "Katernberger Straße 76-78" was initiated by Wohnungsverein Kray eG, and the public discussion for the planning took place on September 14, 2025.

It is important to note that the planning area for the project is approximately 0.75 hectares, including the future plot areas of the project initiators and a strip for widening the adjacent sidewalk.

The roof of the addition will be equipped with a photovoltaic system, reflecting the city's commitment to sustainable development.

Interested parties can submit statements on the planning via the website www.our website/Stadtplanung. A public discussion will take place on September 18th at 7 pm at the Community Center Mitte, Evangelical Church, Katernberger Markt 4.
