In a recent statement, website editor Patrick Neumann has highlighted the significance of good service for customers at airports, emphasizing that "the customer is king." This emphasis comes amidst concerns over the issues with security checks at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport.

Neumann's concerns are valid, as last week, 119 passengers were left waiting at the airport due to staff shortages. The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg, however, claims to be well-prepared for the main travel season. Yet, there are serious doubts about this claim, with the airport's security checks currently causing issues.

The State Ministry is unable to provide sufficient staff for security checks, a situation they refer to as "Stand-bys." This situation can lead to half the airport being paralyzed when just two security staff call in sick.

Neumann demands immediate action, stating that the focus should be on finding solutions to the issues, rather than using fancy words. He further expresses his opinion that there should be no further discussions about the issues at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport, but rather immediate solutions should be sought.

The customer's expectation, according to Neumann, is to receive good service when buying an airline ticket and paying airport taxes. This includes smooth and efficient security checks. Tour operators suggest that passengers should arrive three hours before departure instead of the current two hours. However, this would result in passengers spending more time in drafty airport corridors than their flight to their vacation destination.

In light of these issues, Neumann's demands are directed towards improving the security checks at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport. The name of the person responsible for security checks under the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg remains undisclosed. Despite these challenges, Neumann remains optimistic that with immediate action, the issues can be resolved, ensuring a better experience for all travellers.
