Tragic Tram Accident in Hattingen: 77-Year-Old Man Killed
In a tragic incident that took place on August 30, 2025, a 77-year-old man named Frank Bauermann from Hattingen was fatally struck by a tram. The accident occurred at around 11:15 AM at the intersection of Martin-Luther-Straße and Kreisstraße.
The elderly man was hit by the tram as it was heading towards Bochum Grumme. The tram driver applied emergency braking before the collision, but unfortunately, Mr. Bauermann succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The accident resulted in the temporary closure of one lane of Kreisstraße, and traffic was regulated during the investigation. A traffic accident investigation team from Bochum was called to the scene to conduct a thorough examination.
