DARDAI: "I'm moving towards retirement now..."

Fans of Hertha BSC applauded him with songs, but Pal Dardai (48) likely dreamed of a more glorious departure.

Hertha's last match - DARDAI: "I'm moving towards retirement now..."

In a sports twist, Dardai says goodbye as Hertha's coach with a disappointing 2-1 loss against relegated VfL Osnabrück. He explained, "We could've had a solid 3-0 or 4-0 lead by halftime, and the game would've been over then. However, we failed to score and gave away our presents in the back, as usual."

Despite the defeat, he maintains a positive outlook. "It was a successful year with Tabakovic as the top scorer. We're among the top three goal-scoring teams in the league. Everything we've accomplished holds significance."

Although Dardai enjoyed his time with Hertha, they didn't quite make it to promotion. He's playful about his future plans, "On Monday, I'll visit our U19 games at Jahnsportpark for a crucial game in the German championship finals. On Tuesday, I plan to visit Lake Balaton in Hungary."

He continues with a smile, "So, nothing is wrong here. Life goes on normally. I've experienced so much already; I'm moving towards retirement."

Hertha had announced in a statement that Dardai would rejoin the club in a different capacity. What would his new role be?

Dardai chuckles, "We'll establish a museum. I'll guide visitors through, making a good deal of money for my efforts. That's what I'll do here."
