Dara O'Kearney crushes rival with pocket kings in €500 Main Event showdown

A dramatic showdown unfolded at Table 24 just before the 25-minute break in Day 2 of the €500 Main Event. With 68 players still in contention, Dara O'Kearney and Gonzalo Rodriguez clashed in a high-stakes hand that ended with Rodriguez's elimination. The pot pushed O'Kearney's stack to 500,000 chips.

The action began when Adrian Creagh opened for 10,000 from the Lo-jack. Daniel Ciancio then three-bet to 30,000 from the Cut-off. Rodriguez, holding A♦️ K♣️, responded with a four-bet shove for roughly 160,000.

O'Kearney, with K♠️ K♦️, made the call by five-bet shoving, covering Rodriguez's stack. Both Creagh and Ciancio folded, leaving the two players all-in. O'Kearney's pocket kings held against Rodriguez's ace-king, securing the pot and boosting his chip count significantly.

Rodriguez's exit leaves 67 players remaining in the tournament. O'Kearney now sits with a commanding stack of 500,000 as play resumes after the break. The next rounds will determine whether his momentum continues in the €500 Main Event.
