Headline: Global Leaders Convene in Beijing for Military Parade and Diplomatic Meetings

Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan welcomed Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in Beijing, marking a significant moment in the deepening ties between the two nations. The event, which was the largest-ever military parade in China, showcased advanced weaponry, highlighting China's growing military capabilities.

President Xi Jinping, leading the parade, called for global peace and resistance to hegemonism during the event. The parade was also attended by visiting leaders including Russia's Vladimir Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un.

Meanwhile, across the globe, U.S. President Donald Trump was set to host Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the White House. The meeting between Trump and Nawrocki underscores Trump's backing of Poland's conservative nationalist leader and is expected to discuss arms sales, defence cooperation, and the Three Seas Initiative. The talks are also expected to focus on Ukraine and regional energy security.

In France, political turmoil is brewing. The government, a minority government led by Prime Minister François Bayrou, faces a confidence vote on 8 September. If Bayrou loses the vote, the President, Emmanuel Macron, may face snap elections or heightened calls for his removal. The opposition parties have announced their intention to force this vote, and the government's defeat could potentially rattle French markets.

In Ukraine, tensions remain high. Authorities in Kyiv issued nationwide alerts and urged residents to remain in shelters following a fresh air assault by Russian forces. Ukrainian air defence systems were activated in Kyiv in response to the attack.

As the world continues to navigate political and military challenges, these meetings and events serve as a testament to the complex and evolving international landscape.
