News Article: Folly Foot Favourite for Grand Steeple-Chase de Deauville

The Clairefontaine racetrack is set to host the main event of the day, the Grand Steeple-Chase de Deauville, on August 27, 2025. This Listed Handicap race, with a purse of 88,000 euros, attracts some of the best steeple-chase specialists.

The course, spanning 4500 meters, features a grass track and formidable obstacles, making it a challenging yet exciting race for both horses and spectators.

Folly Foot (4), a ten-year-old gelding of Renaut & Adda, is the favourite for the race. After an excellent performance in the Grand Steeple-Chase of Dieppe, Folly Foot has been targeted for this race, having skipped the preparatory races. Its remarkable class and remarkable form make it a strong contender for the top spot. Folly Foot's ability to possess a nice turn of speed can make the difference in the Handicap Listed race.

Mickaël Seror's Golden Park, a nine-year-old mare, is having an excellent summer and could show its number in the winning combination. Another contender from Seror's stable is JOUVANCELLE (AQ), a six-year-old mare, which has remained in excellent form since its last run.

Keasy Storm (AQ), a five-year-old gelding of Armel Le Clerc, is in great form and has won two consecutive victories. Showly, a seven-year-old gelding of Chaillé-Chaillé & Pamart, won the Prix Léopold d'Orsetti and is a contender for the first place.

Dear Weaver, a five-year-old mare from Hugo Mérienne, had a good comeback from its last victory and could do well in this race. George & Zetterholm's six-year-old colt, FAN D'APPLE'S (AQ), had an excellent comeback on this track recently.

L'ARRABIATO, another contender from Chaillé-Chaillé & Pamart's stable, finished fourth in the reference race held on July 28 on this track and could potentially finish in the places. Joyvol (AQ), an outsider in this field, has just made its comeback at Pompadour after a long absence.

J'AI LA COTE (11) is an outsider in this field, but it has the class to create an upset. THE LIKELY LAD (6) is the absolute big gamble for this Handicap Listed.

The summer conditions include an overcast sky at 22°C and a strong south wind at 24 km/h. Despite its age, Folly Foot is a favourite for the race, having previously placed second in 2023 and won a steeplechase in Dieppe earlier that summer. However, the official race result shows Folly Foot did not finish among the top positions, with Showly winning the race.

Folly Foot is the horse to play with your eyes closed in simple winner, placed, and above all as an indispensable base of all your combinations! The field of runners is small, but all have a chance to finish in the top five. SHOWLY (3) perfectly completes the lineup of reliable bases for the Quinté.

The Quinté+ of August 27, 2025, is taking place at the Clairefontaine racetrack. MOTU FAREONE (IRE), a nine-year-old mare from David Windrif, is building on a satisfactory comeback and could finish in the money despite its heavy weight. J'AI LA COTE, another outsider, could snatch a place if everything goes well.

This promises to be an exciting race, with each horse bringing its unique strengths and challenges to the table. The Grand Steeple-Chase de Deauville is not one to miss!
