Czech Individual Falsifies Identity, Drives Without a License, and Illegally Holds Drugs in Vehicle

In the District of Hagenwerder, a black VW Passat with Czech license plates was inspected at a highway checkpoint in Goerlitz. The driver, initially identified as a 34-year-old Czech national, was suspected of several offences.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the driver did not have a valid driver's license. Suspicions were raised when the driver wrote his supposed name on a piece of paper instead of providing identification. The ID card, found later in a backpack, had the correct personal details, but the driver had initially claimed to have no documents.

During the vehicle search, officers found a brass knuckle in the center console of the car, leading to suspicions of violating the Weapons Act. Traces of an unknown drug were found in the backpack, and another substance was discovered in the suspect's wallet, confirming the Narcotics Act violation suspicion.

A subsequent drug test indicated the use of amphetamines by the driver. The driver, now identified as a 33-year-old Polish man, was also suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.

The information was transmitted via news aktuell from the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf. The suspect has been arrested by the federal police in Görlitz and is facing charges for violating the Narcotics Act, driving without a license, driving under the influence of intoxicating substances, and violations of the Weapons Act.

A driving ban against the driver is in effect until 2029. The 43-year-old driver admitted to being in detox. For further questions, contact Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf Press Spokesman Michael Engler at 0 35 81 - 3626-6110, via email at [email protected], or visit www.bundespolizei.de.
