Fuengirola, Spain, is gearing up for an exciting day of community bonding and scenic enjoyment as the town hosts a non-competitive group cycling event on Sunday, September 7. The event, which is part of the Fuengirola en Forma month-long plan encouraging healthy sports and exercise, is being organised by the Pasión Ciclista del Sur Club in partnership with the Fuengirola Council.

The cycling event, starting at 10am sharp from Plaza de España, promises to fill the streets of Fuengirola with bicycles as participants embark on an 18-kilometre route. The route tours the northern area of Los Pacos, continuing along the Promenade to Torreblanca, and culminates at Toro de Torreblanca.

The social aspect of group cycling is highlighted as an important part of the event, providing an opportunity to meet others who share the same passion. Experienced cyclists from the club will be on hand to assist with any issues, such as punctures or chain problems, ensuring a smooth ride for all.

Symbolic bibs will be distributed at 9.30am to track participants. Registration for the event is free and can be completed via a QR code on event posters or through Pasión Ciclista del Sur's Facebook page. The event is designed to be a family-friendly outing suitable for all ages, including parents, children, and grandparents.

It's worth noting that the cycling event is not a competitive race but a leisurely ride. The route includes climbing to Toro de Torreblanca, offering a day of scenic enjoyment amidst the beautiful Spanish countryside. The Council of Fuengirola has emphasised the importance of the event, with a spokesperson highlighting the social aspect of group cycling and the opportunity it provides for community bonding.

The Fuengirola en Forma plan aims to encourage everyone to engage in healthy sports and exercise. By organising events such as this group cycling event, Fuengirola is demonstrating its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a sense of community. So, mark your calendars for Sunday, September 7, and join Fuengirola in a day of scenic enjoyment and community bonding.
