Cryptocurrency XRP's gaming landscape broadens as B3 Network extends its operations beyond Ethereum's foundational base.
In a bold move to create novel ways of utilising XRP, the appchain network B3, in collaboration with XRPL Commons, is expanding its gaming ecosystem to the XRP Ledger. This expansion aims to bring more users to the XRP Ledger and add utility to XRP.
The journey for B3 began on the Ethereum network, named Base, but it has now found a new home on the XRP Ledger. The team behind B3 includes former members of the team that worked on Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 network Base.
The expansion will start with five hyper-casual testnet games, with the full version of Xcade, an online arcade, expected to launch this fall. Xcade will contain five separate casual or hyper-casual gaming titles.
Viktoriya Hying, co-founder of B3 creator NPC Labs, stated that gaming is a universal way to engage users on-chain. The effort is a significant step towards making crypto games more accessible and playable anywhere.
The June debut of the XRPL EVM sidechain has made it possible to have greater composability and programmability on the XRPL Gamechain. Upon launch, the XRPL Gamechain will allow users to earn XRP rewards via tournaments, competitions, and game nights on the network.
B3 launched its ecosystem token in February and currently boasts more than 100 playable games and 8.5 million onboarded wallets. The expansion to the XRP Ledger marks a new chapter for B3's gaming ecosystem.
