Crowd in Brooklyn thrilled by Steve Buscemi's James Joyce recital
In the vibrant neighbourhood of Bushwick, New York, the Red Pavilion played host to an unforgettable evening on a Friday night. The event, named Eros Unbound, attracted a diverse crowd, including actors, writers, sex workers, voyeurs, and fetish enthusiasts, who gathered to witness a unique blend of literature, humour, and erotic spectacle.
Oscar nominee Austin Butler was among the attendees, spending time with Steve Buscemi's longtime partner, Karen Ho. Author James Frey, a regular at the provocative series, was also present in the sold-out audience.
The highlight of the night was the surprise appearance of actor Steve Buscemi, who captivated the audience with his performance. He read one of James Joyce's infamous love letters, addressed to Joyce's muse, Nora Barnacle. Adopting an Irish accent, Buscemi delivered one of the lines with a wink, saying, "I did what you told me, you dirty little girl."
The crowd erupted in laughter, with one attendee quoted by Page Six stating that Buscemi had the crowd in stitches and everyone was cheering him on. Haitian dancer Fabricio Seraphin also performed during the event, adding to the evening's electrifying atmosphere.
The audience, a mix of local artists and literary enthusiasts, reacted enthusiastically to Buscemi's performance. It was indeed a night to remember at Eros Unbound, where the boundaries of literature and performance art were pushed to their limits.
