Criticizes Price the act of seeking advice from the intelligent
In the pharmaceutical sector of Germany, a significant issue has arisen as mail-order companies operate illegally by not adhering to drug price regulations for insured persons. This non-compliance has been a cause for concern, particularly for the ABDA President, Thomas Preis, who emphasized the importance of a reliable pharmacy system, especially in emergency situations.
Preis, in an interview with the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, criticized the trend of patients seeking advice in pharmacies but then purchasing their medicines online, referring to it as "advice theft." His concern lies in the sustainability of the pharmacy system, which has not seen a significant improvement in remuneration for almost two decades.
The increasing costs for personnel, rents, and energy have made it difficult for many pharmacies to cover these expenses with the two-decade-old remuneration. Recognizing this issue, the federal government has committed to adjusting pharmacy remuneration, according to Preis.
The ABDA President's call for a reliable pharmacy system that is always available for the people is a reminder of the essential role pharmacies play in healthcare. As the landscape of healthcare continues to evolve, it is crucial that pharmacies are adequately remunerated to ensure they can continue to provide the necessary services to the public.
